Make sure that you have administrator privilege to the Controller. If you are accessing the Controller via the network, make sure that you have write access to the network.

Try the following:

1. First, verify that the license currently installed includes the monitor you are trying to add.
2. If the monitor does appear in the license information, then
a. Close the Controller.
b. Go to \bin directory, and double click on the following files
• register_controller.bat
• set_mon.bat
This will reregister all the DLLs associate with the controller and monitors.
3. Restart the Controller and try to add the monitor again.

Make sure that you are not applying LoadRunner6.x license key on LoadRunner7.x or 8.x. LoadRunner6.x license key is not compatible with later versions. You need to contact Mercury Customer Support for a new license key.

Make sure that you are using a correct license key, and the license key is for LoadRunner. For example, to run a WinRunner Vuser in LoadRunner, you need LoadRunner’s GUI Vuser license. WinRunner license key will not work for LoadRunner.

Cause -

The LoadRunner Controller licence is about to expire, so the user has installed a new licence. However the expiry warning message still appears when the Controller application starts.

Solution -

This is not a problem. providing the user has installed the new licence correctly, the expiry message will continue until the old licence expires. Service will be continuous as the new licence will automatically take over.
